Glider Crash

An American soldier lies dead among the splintered ruins of a jeep-carrying Horsa Glider that smashed into a Hedge-Row. The frequency of such mishaps earned Gliders the nickname "Plywood Coffins" among Airborne Soldiers. (scanned by HOS Bandit)

Nowadays we can’t find Gliders because all the Plywood was kept by the french inhabitant , Plywood was very rare and expensive.

There’s part of a middle section of an original glider on the grounds of the Pegasus Bridge museum, it’s inside a wood and glass box under controled atmosferic conditions, next to it there’s a life size replica.
