Items of note: 1. The cannon are the older Hispano Mk II resulting in cannon stubs on the wing leading edge. Later aircraft used the shorter Hispano Mk V, fully buried in the wing.
2. The identification stripes do not adhere to SHAEF standards specified for D-Day but are the same as those carried under Typhoon wings since March 1943.

I’ve read the book of Clostermann and I liked it much. But I’ve got the opinion, reading, that this aircraft was not so good: heavy even if powerful, tricky and not so handling, with delicate engine and mechanisms.
The Typhoon was a good ground attack aircraft, the Temepest was noto so good fighter, remaining anyway a good ground attack aircraft.
