Im doing some research on my great grandad with my grandad, and we have a pic of him and his right arm he has the rank corporal, but there is a X by the Corporal sign, anyone know what that means? is it acting corporal?
Hi, jones. I can not really tell by your “location” where you’re from. Just tell us in which country’s army your great granddad did serve or better place the picture.
West Midlands is part of the UK.
Can you post a scan of the photo? I’ve got a couple of ideas as to what it might be, but they all rely in it being something similar but not identical to an X.
Yh im in the UK, our scanner is broke right now so i can’t upload the photo, BUT i have bought some of his details from the National Archives and that has he rank with the X by it so i will print screen that later, because right now im on the PS3 internet. And if it helps he was in the Royal Scots Fusiliers.
