Gerbals? Do you mean Goebbels? (Almost) None of the big fishes of the Nazi regime managed to survive the war or escape, let alone Hitler (who besides was said to suffer from the Parkinson disease at that time). His death was confirmed by declassified KGB reports in 1992.
