Hotchkiss mle 1900

This weapon was derived from an earlier Hotchkiss design (designated mle 1897). This model appears to have been an export-only model, but evolved into the mle 1914, which was adopted by the French military.

I probaly should have added that I posted this image as a response to an image appearing in the "Japanese Forces" section, in which Japanese troops were inspecting a weapon captured from the Chinese: http://www.ww2incolor.com/japan/C__pia+de+c48.html - to me at least, this seems to be that weapon.
