Hungarian honvéd with a 'Király'

Hungarian honvéd with a 'Király' (Danuvia) 39M submachine gun.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.ww2incolor.com/gallery/hungarian-forces/41528/hungarian-honved-with-a-'kiraly'

A photo of a submachine-gun in action, developed by Mr. Kiraly and manufactured in the Danuvia factory of Budapest by 1939. Its design pointed toward the contemporary assault rifle, but only about 10,000 were produced.

This weapon resembles the US M1 Carbine more than the SMG it is.

That thing looks huge…

I believe it is the longest-barreled, with the longest accurate-range, SMG ever made. IIRC, the sights went out to 400m? It has described as an intermediate step between the SMG and the assault rifle.
