Hey hey Jan!

As you know Romania opposed to join Warsaw pact forces in the invasion.
So, there’s no problem mate!

But Poland,Bulgaria, DDR and …Hunguary( damn, the “innocent” victims of Soviets in 1956) have played the very active role in the invasion of 1968.
Except the political support and they voted for the "military operation in Chehoslovakia " when Breznev asced them - What we have to do? - Their troops together with soviet army have entered to the there.
Besides Dani do yo ever know that befor to give the order to enter the the troops , Breznev used the diplomatic channels asced the Washington- what they will do if the soviets enter.
The ansver of the president Lindon Jonson was- the Chehoslovakia is the “inner bisiness” of the USSR.
ONLY after than the troops of Warsaw pact.

Cheers.

Only Romanians didn´t invade Czechoslovakia.

I feel personally shame for polish commies who sent polish troops to Czechoslovakia.
The brought the infamy to their nation and state as well.

I’m very sorry for that Jan.

pozdrawiam,
Kovalski

In the end, the invasion was an ironic defeat for the USSR. If they had adopted some of the liberal reforms of “Prague Spring” - a more gradual transition to a pluralistic, socialist economy coupled with political reforms toward democracy, instead of stamping them out I things would be better off now…

With hindsight I think you are right. At the time they thought they were doing the right thing for their regime, no matter what we think of it today or thought of it then they were protecting their ‘Sphere of influence’.

Soldiers of Warsaw pact thougt in Czechoslovakia is counter - revolution (I hope it is right translation) and if they were here, they were surprised.
