Iranian aircraft

One of the fifteen Curtiss Hawk 75A-9 (H75A) purchased by Iran, very probably photographed still in United States, but never employed by Iranian Air Force. In effect the aircrafts was delivered on May 1941 and at the date ten were ready to fly and the other five still in crates. But after the Iran’s occupation, August 1941, by the British and the Russians forces which took possession also of the Iranian airports, the aircraft was commandeered by British and transferred in India where was employed by RAF as Mohawk IVs. If this aircraft had the Melin engin in '42 it could have changed the airwar before the P51. The P51 would have happend but a bit later. The wigs could handle the M2A3 .50 cal well zeroed to cross at 600 yards and the twin .30 Brownings over the engine made a great sighting tool.

Very different engine so without a major redesign of the aircraft it would not be compatible.

Inline liquid cooled versus huge aircooled radial.

An attempt was made to fit an Alison V1710 liquid cooled engine (aircraft designated YP37) but it was a failure.

Something about this photo is fishy.I think this is a post war photo,if its real. There is not a whole lot of info on the net about this photo. The only other photo I can find is on wiki and source, unknown date 1960.That color scheme is to pimped(extravagant)out for military aircraft coming out of the U.S.If it was over the U.S I think there would be more info out there. This link has probably the best info which would explain the Norwegian colors on the left ailerons.
