Italian Expeditionary Force in Russia (CSIR)

CSIR leaving for Russia (summer 1941). In 1942 it become ARMIR, 8th Italian Army in Russia (without tanks and heavy anti-tank guns...).

NAPOLEON FAMOUSLY said an army marches on its stomach. Clearly military personnel need to eat well to perform well.
Poor logistics has killed more men than fighting. Example this caption (without tanks and heavy anti-tank guns…), no winter clothing, storage of medical supplies/food and transport. For every fighter needs a supply train of 5-10 men/women in relation to distance. Funny how WW2 leaders did not grasp this simple requirement in the early years.
