The flower on the uniform was probably used in reference to the Hubsburg Empress Maria Theresia.

Also the "Kornblume" (cornflower) was actually the symbol of the ethnic Germans in Hungary (Ungarn-Deutsche, Donauschwaben etc. pp.) of which this division mostly consisted.
