Jap Pillbox Smashed by Iwo Bombardment
When advancing Marines reached this Japanese pill box on Iwo Jima, they found it in this condition, apparently demolished by the combined gunfire of U.S. Navy warships offshore and aerial bombardment. This picture was made during the week following the landing on Iwo Jima on February 19th.
