I am sure there are many helmet collectors out there that can help answer… When did the Japanese Navy transition from the IJN anchor helmet emblem to the painted anchor? Most of the painted later war anchors seems very similar in size so most likely a stencil of some sort was used…comments appreciated…Hemi

I would say near the end of 42 to early 43. They are called stencil helmets because, of how the anchor was applied!
