Japanese with flamethrower Type 93 on Bataan. Japanese flametrowers were copies of British flametrowers from WW1. And they were very dangerous. Their range was only something about 15 meters...

Actually, the range is usually given as being between 25-30 meters, which I believe is fairly typical of manpack flame weapons.
