Polish mounted soldier with anti-armour rifle.
Polish cavalry units were equipped with a number of antitank rifles. The drill, as I understand it, was that where tanks were encountered, the bulk of the formation would fall back, leaving the antitank rifle crews to deal with the threat. This is how Polish cavalry were supposed to respond to tanks and, as far as I know, actually did. Nice photo of a particularly well-turned out cavalryman. Best regards, JR.
