British POW's haul food for the crews of the 1st Company/Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503 (heavy Tank-Battalion 503). The Tiger II of this unit were issued with Porsche turrets. The tanks were positioned in a wood as protection from allied fighter bombers, July 1944.

Looking at the picture one understands the reaction of allied troops when they encountered Tiger II’s for the first time: “Tanks with gun barrels as long as trees.” The 88 mm KwK 43 L/71 was an impressive main gun.
