LACAB GR8

Some German soldiers pose amid the wreckage of Hangar No. 14 at Brussels-Evere, the plane is a Lacab GR8 of the 11e Escadrille of Groupe II, Air Regiment 3. This transport plane built by the Ateliers de Construction Aeronautiques Belge was later converted for use as a bomber but was unserviceable and undergoing repair when the Heinkels of KG27 carpeted the airfield on the 10th of May, 1940. As for the airfield itself, it was built by the Germans for Zepellin operations in 1916 and "reclaimed" on the 17th May 1940.
