Lest We Forget

Tomorrow is remembrance day 11/11. The day when the Brits remember all our war dead since 1914. Please don’t forget the 2 minute silence at 11am.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Colonel John McCrae

For all the soldiers, sailors and airmen who laid down their lives for their country, in Flanders, the Darnadelles, East Africa, Mesopotamia, the North West Frontier, Norway, the Battle of Britain, the Battle of the Atlantic, France, Belgium, North Africa, the Arctic convoys, Greece, Crete, Italy, Burma, Holland, Germany, Palestine, Korea, Malaya, Suez, Kenya, Cyprus, Borneo, Aden, Radfan, Oman, Dhofar, Northern Ireland, Falkland Islands, the liberation of Kuwait, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Iraq.

They grow not old as we who survive them grow old
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the evening
We will remember them

For those who died in the Malvinas Islands too, both brits and argentines.
Rests in peace.
