This is a shot from the Polish film "CANAL" by Andrzej Wajda from 1957.He also made the film "Katyń".In the picture,Lieutenant Zadra.His film tells a story of a small unit that took part in the Warsaw Uprising.A sad story held in the darkness.The first scene when the voice-over tells the history of the unit is fantastic:

‘Kanal’… one of the greatest war movies ever made. Wajda is a genius. K-10, you are not wrong. The film is easily available in the US; has English subtitles. It has many, many great scenes. It is very tragic and just rips at heart and gut.
