Were they effective + accurate?

They were the German answer to the USSR’s Katyusha Rocket. They were anti-personnel in nature. To be effective they were salvo fired at wide area and saturated air with deadly shrapnell. You can imagine the effect it would have against troops moving across open ground. There are ‘some’ reports that the Germans had developed a Fuel-Air explosive round, but those reports are sketchy at best.
