I’m looking for a movie title, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
It’s an “old” (as in before the 90s) color movie, taking place on an island in the Pacific. A small group of soldiers located there are targets of what looks like “rocket shots”. They search the island but can’t figure out where the fire could come from.

It’s “Halls of Montezuma,” starring Richard Widmark. And it certainly is before 1990, try 1950!

The reason I’m asking is that after watching “Halls of Montezuma”, it didn’t ring a bell. I.e. it didn’t seem to be the movie I was looking for…
The souvenir I have is that of a small squad, kind of stranded on a Pacific island. They are targets of what looks like artillery shots, and they search the island for the source but can’t find anything.
So the whole story revolves around that “mystery”: where could the “battery” be ? What is it ? Etc.
Any other suggestion ?
