I am working on my ancestry and I am looking to include information about by Grandfather’s participation during World War II. I know my grandfather, William Barrett Bowers, enlisted on May 9, 1944 at Fort Dix as a member of the Air Corps. My grandfather, who has passed on, never spoke of the war to us. I only have recollection of being told he “dropped bombs.” I am not sure how accurate that is. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
This is not military specific information, but you may fiind what you are looking for here. It should be totally free to use. http://www.ldsgenealogy.com/
tankgeezer,
Thank you. I have an account with ancestry.com where I got information on my grandfather’s enlistment dates. I couldn’t find anything else there. I will check the site that you mentioned to see if they have anything else.
