Lucky to be alive

A German soldier, if not wounded then badly shaken, walks past a shattered panzer and into captivity...Italy (per site), date unkown....

The PzKpfw IV (Ausf G or H) in the background seems to have suffered a truly massive internal explosion that pretty neatly separated the upper part of the hull from the lower. Don’t think I have seen too many examples like this. Note the outer “skirt” on the left of the turret, an element of spaced armour quite common on later PzKpfw IV models. Best regards, JR.
