This photo is actually from the 1940 western campaign. These are soldiers of the Waffen-SS division Totenkopf. At this time the division was equipped with many ex-Czech weapons. The commander of the division was the former psychiatric patient and concentration camp commander Obergruppenfuhrer Theodor Eicke.
