March of POWs

German soldiers march a column of captured GIs from the U.S. Army's 99th Division down a street in the German village of Merlscheid, towards POW camps in Germany. Merlscheid is a tiny hamlet on Kampfgruppe Peiper's line of march between Losheim and Lanzerath. The soldiers were captured in the battle with the German 3rd Parachute Division on December 16, 1944 near the Belgian village of Honsfeld.

Merlscheid is located in Belgium as well, not in Germany.
