Yes Armargedthing is definately a good book and Mr Max does write ever so well. Have not yet read overlord as I have been overloaded with overlord books, will get round to it though.
Going to the Wars is rather a good book, covering as it does his career as a war correspondent. I’ve always been maybe a little sceptical about his powers as a serious historian however - he still seems a little too much of a journalist to me.
