Medal identification?

Hi everyone,

A relative died a little over a week ago and I was helping to clean out his house. He served in India during WWII. I found a medal in a case with Chinese (?) characters written on it. I took a bunch of pictures both of the medal itself and of the case hoping that someone here would be able to identify what this medal is and what the characters say.

Thank you in advance, I really appreciate it!

The blue star looks to be a Kuomintang (Chinese Nationalist, i.e. Chiang Kai Shek) star.
I’m no expert, but at a guess, I’d say a nationalist bravery medal. The alternative would be a Service medal, perhaps representing convoy service on the Burma Road, along which supplies went both to and from China.

Apologies I cannot be more helpful, I no-longer have my reference books in my possession.

Regards, Uyraell.

Thank you very much! You are correct! With your information I did some searching and it looks like it was a medal presented by China for service in China during WWII.

Here is some more information about it: http://www.foxfall.com/fm-14af.htm

You are more than welcome, flyerhell.
I’m glad to have been of help.
