Get close to the life of the German foot soldier in Russia, by watching these amateur movies from the eastern front. The documentary has English subs.
Thanks Freyir, that was good to watch. There are other videos that you could access that are interesting also.
EDIT: There is a “Part II” to the one you posted and some additional ones that you can access off to the side.

I saw that in the playlist for this video. They named a street in Ontario after Langsdorff, the captain of the Graf Spee
I think I ve already posted this film, in any case is a big, big documentry piece, I strongly recomend it to the eastern front aficionados.
I have saved in dvd by the way. If somebody want it in better quality than the youtube…

Yes, but you got to be 16 at least before you’re allowed to watch it.
Very interesting,I also noticed clips from the movie Die Brucke(The Bridge)I seen a bit of this movie years ago,was wondering if anyone knows if it is out on dvd.
It is, however I doubt there’s a version with English subtitles available.

I figured as much, but I was not quite sure, thanks for the reply.
the “lucky” ones among the soldiers in stalingrad , the others weren’t so “lucky” ending in the snow . As for the film it make me feel horrible like i am in hell or something .
You sure is Stalingrad ?, I think is more like the summer 1942, an earlier date.
well not absolutely sure of course it can be Kharkov as well too but i doubt it something tells me that the terrain looks exactly like the airfield near the Stalingrad i don’t know why maybe i am wrong who knows .
Well, the video I ve uploaded is just a part of an 8 minute footage, the first part showed some landscape, I will upload it and we will see if somebody can identify wich part of Russia /Soviet union is.
The climate in the clip looks a little too temperate for both Stalingrad and Kharkov (February/March 1943).
