A few weeks ago I posted for the first time looking for info on my Grandfather who was a Seabee. My son was doing a project. After much research, I was able to find out with the help of others here which battles he was involved in.

Since then I have discovered that my husbands Grandfather was part of the Merrill’s Mauraders. I had never before heard of them (never done WWII research before).

I am interested in seeing if anyone knew of him? or my grandfather the Seabee. Their names were Hershel Campbell and Charles Lederer.

Most of the research I have done says that the mauraders were volunteers?
