This could go in the German Military forum, but it’s also a metal detector find, so I wasn’t sure where it should go. I have no comments except to ask opinions of fellow forum members about it’s authenticity and discussion of items. Enjoy!

The soil appeared to be dry, so a steel storage container with a rubber seal might well preserve the contents. Normally, Fungus spores found naturally in the environment, and present on nearly everything would be the most likely to degrade the contents, these do seem to be in unusually good condition for sitting in the ground for 70 yrs. This is assuming that the container was buried during the war, and not perhaps many years afterwards. If this find is legitimate, it would be quite a valuable find as a time capsule, a window into someones life.
Officer’s luggage…how feudal!
A Saw Bones no less (well a medical officer anyway).
