what do you think about the MXY-7 jet, the jet design to be release by bombers, then the pilot will started the jet engine, which will make the jet go as fast as 500MPH, then the pilot will try to crash the plane into allied warship (sort of the same as the X-4 glided missiles, but the difference is X-4 dont have to waste a pilot on the mission)
It was my understanding most of the sorties with them were a failure due to the G4M’s carrying them were easy pickings. The ones that got away did cause some heavy havoc though.
I think the MXY-7 can be launched from land, bombers, submarine (wth special takeoff device), so i guess the bombers being a easy target doesnt really matter than, plus i guess if the jap still has a large number of planes on those sudicide mission, i guess they still have tons to protect their bombers? :?:

were these designed to compliment the Kamikaze? or as a substitute?
I’ve seen some gun camera footage of bombers carrying these things getting shot down.
