Hi,
I went/am on a small trip in Ottawa where I am visiting friends. Since I am already here I thought it would be a good idea to go visit the national archives. I went there today for a few hours. The collection has some nice pictures, but overall nothing too exciting. I was a bit disappointed, as I was expecting more photographs in general. There are only about 10 pictures of hitler (most from himmler’s collection), one of rommel and a few other german officers. All the others just show scenery, ruins, Canadian and foreign forces and POWs (those are nice).
I requested one box of about 400 photographs. I’ll take a look at it tomorrow if available. The description and sample pictures looked promising.
A few images have been digitalized. To give you an idea of what’s there you can go here http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/faces/001048-100.01-e.php
