The Democratic Republic of Lohhar is a very large, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate population of 186 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and the Environment. The average income tax rate is 96%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Gambling.

Prime commercial land is being swamped with archaeological teams, there’s a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, untold millions of yongs are going into a new government-funded maternity leave scheme, and the nation has an international reputation for compassion. Crime – especially youth-related – is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Lohhar’s national animal is the unicorn, which frolics freely in the nation’s many lush forests, and its currency is the yong.

The Principality of Ditchling is a massive, economically powerful nation, notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.225 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Social Equality and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Information Technology and Woodchip Exports.

Parents are held criminally responsible for their children’s crimes, all streets are privately owned toll roads, organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, and motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ditchling’s national animal is the puffin, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the groat.

Ditchling is ranked 1st in the region and 2,886th in the world for Largest Cheese Export Sector.

The Oppressed Peoples of Nicapoo is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn’t gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The average income tax rate is 49%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Soda Sales and Arms Manufacturing.
