Need Pictures Of Okinawa Battle

Hello!
I’m looking for any photos that were taken on Okinawa between April 1, 1945 and May 21, 1945. My Father fought there in the 382d Infantry (U.S. Army) and was wounded in the battle at the Shuri line (on the hill called “Dick Right” or more commonly called “Dick Hill”). I’m putting together a military history for him. He was in “Company E” and was an automatic rifleman (B.A.R.).

Thanks in advance for any help!!

On the quick I found just one, simply saying: soldiers of 1st Marine Division watch impacts of phosphor grenades on an enemy ridge, May 1945.

Flamethrower…
Hey thanks…what a great picture!! I’ll try to find out which ridge this is…but if it was taken in May, 1945, it most likely was either where my Father was fighting or very near.

By the way…just curious, but did you fight in WWII as a flamethrower?

Thanks Again For Your Help!!

Uhm, not in this life.

Would you have wanted to in another life?:army::smiley:

No, I always dream of another life being a bird sitting above the exit of a car wash and waiting for the spick and span cars approach below my cloaca.

There are a few well know pictures in the U.S. archives regarding Okinawa. there aren’t many but the ones they do have are well documented.
