Like so many things in Nazi Germany it never reached it’s full potential. Bad for Hitler good for the rest of us. Had the top echelon grasped the overwhelming ability the 262 had and concentrated on production it might have debuted a year earlier and had a profound impact on the bomber stream and lenghtened the conflict.

Yes, it may have worked out for them, however, the engines, as pointed out before were extremely finicky. A very short life and very much prone to catching fire. Something to do with the materials available no doubt. Still, we wil never know and thank God eh.

not to mention the engine has only a dozen of hours to run before it needs to be replace, very bad idea to use me262 in a large mass by the time they have so little resources left
