I am an American carpenter in Norway, and until I moved here I never realized the difference between reading or hearing stories about world war 2 and actually standing in some of the places where german troops had built bunkers and gun posts for artillery defenses of the southern coastal waters. Since moving here I have been shown several places where the german were camped. And there have been a few that I have just stumbled onto myself unexpected. So now I am interested to go and see all I can nearby. I am curious of how life was here for the german soldiers day to day. The soldiers that built these observation posts and manned them in the bitter cold weather.
Right now I am looking to find evidence of a crash site on a mount close to Egersund. If you climb up Varberg and read the tourism signs up there they have some old ww2 pics of Egersund and they show a supposed crash site of an Austrailian pilot. As yet I cannot find anything online to act as a report as of what happened and when.
