Norwegian SS-volunteer

17-year old Norwegian SS-volunteer from Division Nordland hunting partisans in Croatia, autumn 1943. This boy survived the war, but was mutilated during the fighting at Narva in 1944.

Lets hope he was treated with the respect due to a wounded veteran upon his return and not as a traitor. He would surely have felt that he was fighting for Norway every bit as much as those who chose the Alied side did. Who is to say he was wrong.
