I know that this photo was taken on dday at omaha beach. Can anyone tell me more specifically what sector or area it was taken.
Any help would be appreciated.
Officially the unit is mentioned as E-Company of 16th Infantry Regiment, so maybe the history of this regiment or of the 1st Infantry Division could tell you more.

BTW, the photographer’s name was Robert F. Sargent of the US Coast Guard.
