ORP Blyskawica

I was on a business trip in Gdynia (polish coast of Baltic sea),
and I just couldn’t restrain myself from taking few pics for you.

It’s an ORP Blyskawica (Lightning), a polish destroyer fighting during WW2.

Nice gallery Kovalsky.

The skiblued cammo is the original used in WW2 ?

She looks good!

I asked myself the same question when I saw her.
As far as I know the camo chanaged 4 times during the war. It was depended on the sea where Blyskawica was operating. But I have no idea where this camo was used. It looks to bright for me.

It may works well…in a cloudy day

It seems that the camo I got on pics was used in 1941/42 in North Sea.
At least it looks similiar: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grafika:ORP_Blyskawica_01.JPG

Here’s the link for the so-called “Operation Pekin”

I was actually thinking the oppisite…looks to me that it would work better if it were operating in an area that usually has good weather. If you look at the first pic just imagine the thing at a good distance. Seems to me that is would blend in rather nicely. JMO.

I am not an expert on naval issues, but I think the sun would make shine too much. With a dimer light…perhaps.

And few my pictures this ship
