Oz Forces in Greece/Crete

WOW! Thanks for this!

First topic in this forum then

Since I am of Greek-Australian lineage (both parents from Greece, but I was born and raised in Oz… still here 8) ), does anyone have any stories or pics that they could link to this forum from these campaigns (Operations Martika and Mercury)?

Operation Merkur (English Mercury) was the name given to German invasion of Crete in May 1941.

Ah, thank you sir. (Sometimes a Google will bring up some uselss junk). Your links should provide me (for the rest of tonight) with some some good reading.

Am also currently reading Antony Beever’s “Crete” which is a great book, but has somewhat of a minimal account of ANZAC forces’ accounts of the battles.

Cheers!

Thank you FW-190 for replying to my request to make an australian forum.
