P51-D Mustang. Royal Canadian Air Force.

My Dad was stationed in England during WW 2, with the RCAF.
He flew Mustangs, mostly, and Iā€™m wondering what colour ( paint ) scheme these aircraft used during that time.

Any help/input on this would be much appreciated.

thanks,
nitehawk

Without more info on his squadrons, it was most likely the standard RAF/RCAF sky blue for the undersides, and the usual light and dark green camouflage on the upper surfaces.

The ā€œDā€ variant was not the most used by the RCAF but earlier ones.
