Here are some pics I took today of a Pacific War reenactment between US Troops and Japanese troops. First, it started off with a demonstration of various US and Japanese weapons using blank ammo. Then, it followed with a quick demonstration of US troops attacking a Japanese pill box and artillery positions. It was neat. The spectators sat maybe 20-30 feet away from the demonstrations (we were provided with free ear plugs)…and when they demonstrated the flamethrower, the spectators thought that their skin would burn and fall off–it was that hot. I could only imagine what it must have felt like to be on the receiving end of that…
Anyone know what Japanese plane this was?
It looks like a B5N torpedo bomber.

Thanks george! That was great…one thing missing was the yelling.
I only live about 40mins south of this place. Last year they had a big Iwo Jima reenactment , but I don’t know if they’ll have it this year. Check out some pics of the event last year: http://www.pbase.com/vernix/iwo_jima_doss_texas
