The tank on the left took a beating. I wouldn’t think that tanks in combat would be so close together.
You are right navyson, in combat tanks are generally more widely dispersed to make less attractive targets for artillery. I would guess these were either knocked out in succession while using the tank previously knocked out for cover or they were hit by artillery or aircraft in a rear area but that’s all speculation.
I have come across this picture before and it said these tanks were destroyed by a shturmovik.
