Hi there,
I’m looking for a black and white picture that was included in the book “Life at War” which compiles a series of war photographs publiced in the magazine LIFE.
The photograph really grabbed me.
It shows a crying young boy with his crouching father hugging (and kissing?) him tight before he goes to war. Holding an M1 Garand with the same hand hes hugging his son, wearing a Garrison Cap and grimacing from greaf over having to leave his 2 or 3 year old behind (and obviousy being unsure if he’ll ever see that little boy again.)
The book stated that this photograph is called “Daddy don’t go” or “Daddy please don’t go.” It did not however included the name of the photographer.
Hope you guys can help out.
