Parachute Mine

Not exactly what you would want to find in your back garden. Liverpool(?) We lived about 30 miles from Liverpool during the war and I can tell you that they had a rough time.

The parents of my father had an unexploded 250kg in their garden after the raids on Leuven(Belgium) 11 and 12may 1944.The bomb-runs were to destroy the railway yards but a lot of damage was done to the city.
The father of my mother worked for the railroad as a welder and they moved to the city to be safer but sadly because of the poor aiming of the bomber crews their new home in the city got bombed and the one they left (too close to the station) still stands.Luckily they were not homeā€¦ .
