Paratroopers (Ejtoernyosok), Hungary

A group of Honved paratroopers line up for inspection. Though numbering only a thousand or two, they fought hard defending Budapest during the siege of 1944-1945, deployed as regular infantry, using Hungarian submachine guns.

Did they ever make combat drops?

As far as I can gather, they parachuted into combat only once, on April 12, 1941, during the advance into Bacska province held by Serbia. Their mission was to occupy certain bridges before the arrival of the ground troops and it was successfully accomplished.
