I have about 7 or 10 color pictures from oveseas in Europe my Uncle took. They are on the slides that you stick in a projector picture viewer thing. Is there a way to get them develop to normal style pictures? I was just curious as I’d rather have them in photo form than little miniture slide style. Thanks
Yes.
You can take photographs with a 35mm camera by using an inexpensive device that mounts on the end of one of your lenses, there may be some available for the larger digital cameras too.
Or you can take them to a reputable photographic shop and get them transferred to disc.
Whatever you do make sure you get a digital copy, dias can be fragile.
I.ve got some kind of thingy in my scanner that lets me do that, but I haven’t got any slides.
Or like Cuts says, a reputable photo shop.
Personnally I’d give them in one at a time!!!
When you have them duplicated, you may notice that the contrast of the duplicates is marginally higher than the originals. This is not abnormal, as color reversal film has higher contrast than negative film. If you have them reproduced as color negatives, the effect of increased contrast should be nominal if noticable at all. The negatives will allow you to print standard prints with a lower cost than having prints made from slides.
IMPORTANT: If you do it yourself by purchasing a slide duplicator (not economical for just a few images ofcourse) be sure to use the slowest color film you can buy - such as ISO 50 or 100. This will help to retain details in the duplicate negatives.
