Political leaders today widely condemned proposals by a controversial Islamic group to march through a town now synonymous with honouring soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
Downing Street and opposition leader David Cameron both criticised plans by Islam4UK to march through Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, as “inappropriate” and “unacceptable”.

I thought I’d posted one of my less temperate responses in this thread last night, but apparently I was so pissed then, or now, that I have no idea what I did.
Which is a pity as I was a lot more pissed last night and it had to be better than tonight’s modest and unusually restrained offering.

The procession in Wootton Basset is therefore an attempt to engage the British publics minds on the real reasons why their soldiers are returning home in body bags and the real cost of the war.

If he wants ‘to engage the public’s minds on the real reasons their soldiers are returning home in body bags’ he ought to have the courage of his convictions to draw the public’s attention to his cause when one of his enemy’s soldiers is returning home in a body bag.
If he and his food bandit supporters did that, I suspect that the good people of Wootton Bassett would at worst turn their backs on him and his useless primitive kind.
Unlike Mr fucking Choudary and his medieval morons who, given half a chance and a box of matches, would be bombing the funeral procession; the local shops; the police station; the nearest army barracks; the parliament; and every other thing which distinguishes Mr fucking Choudary and his bunch of murderous bearded seventh century apes from what passes for current civilisation.

Because if I was, then like so many Muslims of a decent and humane disposition, I would have to try to detach myself from arseholes like Mr Choudary who claim to speak for me and all other Muslims.
And nobody would believe me, because cunts like Mr Choudary have decided who is and is not a real Muslim and what a real Muslim must do, which apparently includes challenging and showing contempt for people who respect those soldiers who have died trying to rid the world of cunts like bin Laden who kill thousands of people just because they’re not like them and in a building targeted just because it’s there.
If those are the deeply thought out and highly intelligent principles Mr Choudary is so fond of, he should be grateful that instead of being in any Muslim country based on the Sharia law he espouses that he is lucky enough to live in a non-Islamic country where he can freely express his opposition to people who aren’t like him.
Then again, I rather like the idea of living in a country where, free of legal or social constraints, I can dispose of people like Mr Choudary because they aren’t anything like me or anyone I know and they want to blow me away.
One of which countries, oddly enough, happens to be Afghanistan.
Strange, isn’t it, that Mr Choudary the great demonstrator for Islamic causes chooses to live in and exercise his right to dissent in the hated West where those rights exist and are protected?
Which is the exact opposite of the Islamic countries he champions.
And where he carefully chooses not to live.
Is there a complicated paradox here beyond the ken of non-Islamic mortals like me, or are Choudary and his ilk just hypocritical fuckwits who are no more than vipers in the breast of the nations which give them the liberty to rail against the West in favour of Islam when they would not have the reverse liberty in the systems of government they want to impose on the rest of the world?

I assume that he is equally opposed to murder and rape by Muslims in what are laughably called ‘honour killings’.

So far as the alleged rapes and murders by British soldiers are concerned, even if they occurred I can’t see how Mr Choudry et al have any grounds for being upset when it’s perfectly alright for Muslim men to rape and murder their own women.
