Besides the sheer mastery of Beevor, Hastings and Kershaw (presently reading his magnum opus ‘The End - Germany 1944-45’) can anyone recommend other authors ? Particularly interested in the German post war 1946-1960 recovery period. Sincere thanks.
If a Novel would suffice, I could recommend Leon Uris’ Armageddon, though it is a bit of a docudrama.
Not exactly to do with post war Germany but Adam Tooze’s ‘Wages of Destruction’ does have some information in the last chapter.
Tony Vaccaro’s “Entering Germany” contains some excellent illustrations concerning this topic.
