The canteen of the german POW camp in Fort Knox/Kentucky. For their work (fruit- and cotton-picking etc.) the german POWs got vouchers with a value of 80 cents per day to buy tobacco, chocolate and other goods.

the pay might seem low and it was but they were POWs. Growing up in Alabama in 1964 I was paid a great sum of .50 cent per hour doing the same thing. Hoeing cotton and picking strawberries 8 to 10 hours a day.
