A German officer occupying a ramshacrle fortified position in Stalingrad.He is armed with the Soviet PPSh-41 submachine gun,a robust weapon ideal for fighing in urban area.
I wonder if he survived the war? Chances are low considering that he’s in Stalingrad.
A friend of mine has got a (unvisibly disabled) PPSh-41. I was so lucky to hold it in my hands for a few moments, in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful (yet horrible) tools man has ever made.
I own one, dated 1945. I often wonder where the weapon was used, who owned it, did he survive the war?? Still got the original magazines and pouches as well… a real prize
